Meet the Creator

Tales of Khassid was created by Darnell Coates—an Emergency Medical Technician, avid video gamer, storyteller, worldbuilder, and tabletop roleplaying enthusiast with a deep love of history, mythology, institutions, and the consequences of choice.

He develops Khassid between shifts, campaigns, writing sessions, and the supervisory demands of Jericho, who remains unconvinced that worldbuilding is a valid reason to delay a walk.

Beyond the Archives

The World Behind the Records

Khassid began with a simple conviction:

What happens in play should matter.

From that idea grew a world shaped by divine failure, mortal resilience, ancient law, political memory, and the deeds of those who refuse to pass unnoticed through history.

Building Khassid

Tales of Khassid is built record by record.

Its gods, nations, species, settlements, vocations, creatures, songs, and histories are presented through the Aelorian Archives—an in-world repository that treats the setting not as a collection of disconnected lore, but as a world with institutions, witnesses, restrictions, and memory.

The project draws inspiration from traditional fantasy, recorded history, religious mythology, political development, and the enduring belief that worlds become more convincing when their past continues to shape their present.

A World Made for Play

Khassid is not intended only to be read.

It is a campaign setting designed for fifth-edition-style tabletop roleplaying, where players can enter the world, challenge its institutions, uncover its secrets, and leave marks that matter.

Through Weight of Deeds, Tales of Khassid is also exploring how meaningful stories created at individual tables might one day receive recognition within the larger living setting.

Aelorian Press

Aelorian Press is the publishing arm of Tales of Khassid.

It exists to collect, preserve, and release the completed regions, histories, player options, creatures, and other works developed for the setting.

The first fully documented region is the Morgdhavian Archipelago, a chain of fourteen islands shaped by law, faith, trade, survival, and consequence.

Follow the Work

Tales of Khassid continues to grow through the Aelorian Archives, the development blog, the newsletter, and the community surrounding the setting.

The world is still being written.

The Archives are still opening.

And there are many Deeds yet to be recorded.
