Profile: Aleryn Duskwhisper
I am Aleryn Duskwhisper — Exarch of Illario and Keeper of the Aelorian Archives. I spend my days recording the truth of Khassid as it unfolds, which sounds far more solemn than it actually is. History, I’ve found, has a sense of humor—usually at someone else’s expense, occasionally at mine.
I am also, somewhat inexplicably, the Bound of an Amechroi named Jericho.
To the untrained eye, Jericho is a dog. A good one, at that—loyal, quiet, and far too clever when food is involved. To those who understand what an Amechroi is, however, the matter becomes… more complicated. He is something that chose me, for reasons I have yet to fully catalogue, and I suspect I never will. When I am threatened, he ceases to be “dog” in any meaningful sense of the word. What he becomes instead is best described as a decisive argument against poor decision-making.
For the record, I did not seek him out. One does not acquire an Amechroi. One is… assigned.
Between maintaining the Archives and ensuring Jericho does not frighten visiting scholars into early retirement, I do what I can to ensure that what is written here remains accurate, measured, and—when possible—useful.
If you have come seeking truth, you are welcome.
If you have come with ill intent… I recommend reconsidering. Jericho is very attentive.
